Hilariously Blunt is celebrating 420 with an exclusive episode and very special guest, Steve Parish of The Grateful Dead.
Steve joins Walter Ford at March and Ash’s Mission Valley store to introduce his Big Steve Pre-Roll from Grizzly Peak Farms. Made from mysterious cannabis seeds Steve was given from the locals in Egypt, Steve recently decided to team up with growers to bring this mysterious strain to life and share with the public.
Steve Parish is a legend in the music business having been a primary member and close friend of the Grateful Dead for over 50 years. He became very close with Jerry Garcia in particular, acting as his personal roadie and later manager for his solo performances and Garcia Band shows.
In this special episode, Steve recounts some of the stories from the road and how it has inspired his foray into the cannabis industry - pre and post legalization.
“Wherever we went, the weed came to us. In the Haight-Ashbury, smugglers came from the whole world with the best stuff. Then after we established ourselves in the Bay Area, we were bold, we just were brave men,” Steve recounts from his experiences in the late 60s. “The Big Steve pre-roll. I'll tell you about that. When we would drive from San Francisco to L.A. to do shows, I would roll eight joints for the ride, one for every 50 miles.”
