Over the past couple decades The Cure Company’s network of seed hunters have amassed an impressive genetic library. They procured the classic strains of the medical era and continue to hunt the new exotic cultivars of modern recreational cannabis. The Cure Company continues to expand, now operating multiple grow operations and distributing throughout all of California.

The Cure Company’s humble beginnings officially began as a medical cannabis collective called City Compassionate Caregivers. CCC had served Los Angeles for over a decade before recreational cannabis changed the playing field in California. This allowed The Cure Company to be grandfathered into California’s competitive market. With the help of their friends and cannabis industry contacts, the Cure Company rallied OG cultivators and amassed a legacy team that gave them an extremely potent genetics library of hybrid, sativa and indica strains.

The Cure Company started to release the well known genetics from southern California’s grassroots growers. Their understanding of Southern California’s affinity for OG’s gave them a great stable of heavy hitters like Fritz, King Louie, Gelato, Skywalker and of course, the famous Marathon OG.

Marathon OG was a strain that was originally grown and backed by the late rapper Nipsey Hussle in collaboration with The Cure Company. While Hussle’s family has since established their own grow called Marathon Cultivation, both companies are still keeping his genetics alive.

“Marathon genetics came from an old school friend and grower in San Francisco,” explained Stad in an interview with Forbes.

“I kept it in a library for 15 years. Nipsey’s brother loved the strain, he brought it to Nispey who loved it, too. He said, ‘if they were getting behind a genetic, it would be one Nipsey really loves.’

“It’s just been one strain that everybody loves. It was perfect. He wanted to do it right. He wasn’t just going to grab anything and put it in there. I am glad to have preserved the OG in a time capsule. It sells no matter what other trends come and go.”

Cherry Apple Z is a flavorful hybrid that crosses the cultivars Apple and Zkittlez. This fusion creates a fruity, sweet and gassy flavored smoke. Cherry Apple Z’s effects are purported to be euphoric initially and may transition to a calm and relaxing feeling. Dominant terpenes are caryophyllene, limonene and humulene.

The Cure OG is an OG Kush cannabis indica phenotype. This cultivar has the quintessential OG Kush flavors of citrus, pine, and earthy spice.
