There are many faces, familiar and new, that are leading the way in the cannabis industry with innovative products that cater to many niches. Since March is Women’s History Month, we’d like to highlight a few of our favorite female-owned brands that are excellent examples of the strength female entrepreneurs bring to the industry.

Garden Society

Garden Society founders, Erin Gore and Karli Warner, are fearless advocates for women-owned cannabis businesses, and equally dedicated to breaking the stigma and rewriting the script around the plant. They are all about making cannabis a simple, vital part of people's daily lives. They are constantly driving at uncompromising quality and know the importance of connecting sustainable ingredients and strain specific cannabis in their products.

Potli

Potli was founded in 2017 by Bay Area natives Felicity Chen and Christine Yi as a way to honor their asian heritage in the cannabis space. Their super premium, everyday ingredients like honey, olive oil, chili oil, and sriracha are odes to Eastern medicine and the healing power of functional foods. Their honey is farmed in hives on Felicity's property in partnership with a multi-generational beekeeper who has been passionate about beekeeping for the past 30 years. They made this product for Felicity’s mom, an asthma patient and a first generation immigrant who has been deterred by the negative reputation of cannabis from exploring its health benefits. With her in mind, they set out to craft a product customers could trust, where quality or dosage was undoubtedly clear and apparent.

Proof Extracts

In 2016, Proof’s founders, a husband and wife team, set out with a simple goal: to make cannabis products of the absolute highest quality, priced compassionately, so that those who need them most could afford them. Proof aims to create a business that lifts up those around it and make products that we are proud of. They strive to include those who are often underrepresented in the industry; people of color, women, trans and queer folk. They realize that we can only hope to serve a diverse client-base if we understand and represent a diverse client-base.

LEUNE is a California born lifestyle brand forged on the principle of transcending the narrative of cannabis culture. Through high aesthetic and uncompromising quality standards, they aim to create new ideals for the industry. LEUNE is passionate about social equity, social justice reform and BLM (yesterday, today and ALWAYS.) LEUNE is owned and operated by Nidhi Lucky Handa, a WOC (woman of color) and as such, these values hit very close to home.
