Drew Martin is an herbalist, award-winning mixologist, and self-proclaimed wanderer. He launched his eponymous line of botanically blended pre-rolls in 2020 with a goal of creating new ways for people to experience cannabis. Here's an interview with the founder, Drew Martin himself!

__Q: What is a botanically blended pre-roll? __

A: The concept is pretty simple! We take sun grown sativa-hybrid flower and blend it with organically grown herbs and botanicals. It’s like a spliff but made with tasty flowers instead of tobacco.

Q: What do they taste like?

A: As a mixologist, taste is incredibly important to me. I started by looking for cannabis flower with a bright and citrusy terpene profile as a base. Then I built on that with complementary herbs and botanicals that I selected for the unique flavors they contribute. I love the magic that happens when the terpenes from the different herbs and cannabis mingle and combine with each other. I really think of each of my different blends as cocktails!

With the Rose Petal & Peppermint blend for example, you’ll taste this really lovely perfume from the rose petals intertwined with the cannabis and then you’ll notice a cooling effect from the peppermint.

Q: What do they taste like?

Q: How will I feel?

A: These are social spliffs! I wanted to make something you could share with friends while still being present. A joint that elevates your mood without totally taking over. The sativa hybrid cannabis is uplifting without being too heady. The botanicals keep the potency between 8% and 10% THC, about half of most joints on the shelf, so you can keep smoking for longer. To me, smoking one of these pre-rolls feels more like sipping on a glass of wine instead of taking a shot.

Q: Where did the inspiration to blend cannabis and botanicals come from?

Since childhood I've always loved exploring new places. Prior to moving to Los Angeles I spent ten years living nomadically. During my travels I developed a passion for learning about different cultures' use of plants and herbs. I found this to be a powerful way to create authentic connections. This ultimately led me to pursue formal training in western herbalism. One thing I have learned is that smoking herbs, from cannabis to botanicals, has been present in some form in every culture and society in human history.
