Cannabis With a Conscience

Over 50 years ago, in 1970, a group of activists led by Senator Gaylord Nelson took to the streets to raise awareness about the potential negative impacts of industrial development on the environment around us. Since then, Earth Day has become a global celebration, a crusade for an unpolluted planet, and a day of recognition.

To commemorate this year’s Earth Day (or Earth Month), March and Ash is joining Earth Fair 2022 at Balboa Park on 4/24/2022 in sunny San Diego, California. We will have our own Cannabis Village alongside some of the most popular brands in southern California, like Farmer and the Felon and Raw Garden.

Cannabis With a Conscience

Come and say hello to the March and Ash team, stick around for some fantastic giveaways, and have a face-to-face chat with some of the most forward-thinking brands in cannabis.

In preparation for this year’s Earth Day and the Earth Fair event, we want to give some major props to some of our favorite eco-friendly brands that hold true to the idea that cannabis can be enjoyed while being conscious of our impacts on the planet.

No Till Kings

Inspired by their preferred growing method of organic “living” soil, No Till Kings have been honing their craft to cultivate the highest quality, cleanest grade cannabis on the market since 2017. Living soil, or regenerative farming, is an old-school organic growing method with a lineage to indigenous populations worldwide.

Regenerative farming, aka “living soil,” aka “no-till” cultivation, is the idea of recreating the natural processes observed in forest soil. Forest soil is chock full of microorganisms thanks to thousands of fallen leaves and other organic materials decomposing, which feeds nutrients back into the soil. No Till Kings recreates that process by using their plant’s leaves, stalks, roots, and worms to continuously feed their soil, making it more nutrient-rich over time.

No Till Kings

As a result of cultivating such a nutrient-rich growing medium, No Till Kings have never thrown away their soil after harvesting. This is a more sustainable way to grow cannabis because it eliminates the need for new soil every growing season. This farming practice also promotes natural pest control methods, eliminating the need for chemical pesticides.

By utilizing this cultivation method, No Till Kings produces some of the most legendary strains in organic cannabis culture and elevates their terpene profiles to their highest potential. Try their Mimosa, Gelato 41, SFV OG x Animal Mints, Cookies and Cream #2, and Jack the Ripper strains to truly experience the influence of living soil and support a company that is making sustainable cultivation and recycled ocean plastic packaging fashionable for the cannabis industry.

Raw Garden

Raw Garden is known for their exceptional concentrates and refined Live Resins. Their award-winning cannabis oils are made with top-quality flowers that are cryogenically frozen to capture the true essence of the cultivar.

Did you know that Raw Garden’s concentrates are Clean Green Certified and have been since 2015? The Clean Green Certification program is recognized worldwide as the authority on organic and sustainable cannabis growing practices. Raw Garden exceeds those standards by using natural fertilizers, organic pest control methods, and organic soils on their farms to ensure that their customers can consume with confidence.

Raw Garden

Supporting a brand like Raw Garden means supporting a progressive cannabis company focused on environmentally sustainable farming practices like water conservation without sacrificing quality.

Raw Garden cultivates world-class genetics that spans a wide range of terpenes and cannabinoids but tends to lean towards growing the fruity, gassy, sour flavors. Cultivars like Mandarin Mist, Yuzu Sunrise, Citrus Funk, and Banana Cookies OG are just some selections from the impressively extensive portfolio offered by Raw Garden.

Wyld

Known for their delicious, potent gummies made with premium cannabis extracts with unique botanical and fruit terpenes, Wyld offers a broad range of high-quality experiences that any consumer can select to meet their needs. Wyld also incorporates minor cannabinoids with their THC extracts to make the most of the entourage effect experienced by the endocannabinoid system.

What makes Wyld’s gummies so impressive, apart from their potent effects and flavors, are the processes and values the environmentally focused company embraces as part of their mantra. For one, they have officially become carbon neutral thanks to their dedication to measuring, reducing, and offsetting the greenhouse gasses produced by their operations.

Wyld

Expanding on their goals to be good to the planet, they have also developed 100% compostable packaging to address excessive, wasteful, single-use packaging in the cannabis industry. Wyld is dedicated to the health and wellness of our delicate environments by committing to planting 50,000 trees to reduce the impact of forest fires, restore critical watersheds, and advocate for balance in nature.

We wish we had time to expand on their other partnerships with organizations like One Tree Planted, The Freshwater Trust, Oregon Natural Desert Association, and the Darkwoods Forest Conservation. Stop by one of our seven shops and try Wyld’s Pear 1:1 CBG gummies, their Strawberry 20:1 CBD gummies, or their Peach 2:1 CBD gummies and learn more about why Wyld is one of the leaders of cannabis with a conscience.

THC Design

Woman-owned and employed by over 200 people of various ethnic backgrounds and distinctive cultures, THC Design is at the front of the pack in premium cannabis cultivation. With strains like Wedding Cake, Frozen Margarita, and Purple Push Pop, it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to recognize the quality of THC Design cultivars.

As if top-notch cannabis isn’t a good enough reason to support a company like THC Design, they up the positive vibes with their mission to be the first carbon-negative indoor cannabis company. By adopting renewable energies and carbon offsets, they are working towards becoming ultimately carbon negative and climate positive.

THC Design

THC Design has updated its packaging to be more environmentally friendly by using bamboo and bubble glass. Bamboo is a fast-growing, sustainable crop making it the perfect packaging material for a company like THC Design. Bubble glass is typically made from recycled glass, reducing the environmental impact. They’ve even decided to use electric vehicles for distribution.

THC Design’s experience, passion, quality standards, and commitment to creating a positive impact on our planet communicates to their customers that they can purchase THC Design’s products confidently, knowing that it was all cultivated with the planet in mind.

Kikoko

Kikoko was founded on the principles of generosity, making an impact, and offering women scientifically proven, cannabis-based alternatives to pharmaceuticals and alcohol. They’re fed up with the pursuit of profit in cannabis while ignoring the environmental impact of their business decisions.

Kikoko has created many products like organic canna-teas made with organic whole-plant herbs. Their honeyshots are cultivated with artisanal Manuka and Kanuka honey from New Zealand. Their THC and CBD are sourced from cannabis grown outdoors using organic or biodynamic farming methods.

Kikoko’s teas and mint tins contain no plastic and are made with 100% recyclable materials, which you can then upcycle and use as containers once you’re done enjoying their delicious products. Since their tins are made of recycled steel, they can be recycled an infinite number of times.

Kikoko

Their honeyshot packing is sourced from 100% compostable materials that begin to degrade within six months of being disposed into a compost bin. Even their tamper-resistant shrink wrap is compostable!

Kikoko’s desire to never contribute to a landfill makes them a wonderful company to support on this year’s Earth Day.
