Films like The Batman starring Robert Pattinson and Deep Water with Ana De Armas on Hulu are setting the tone for audiences' expectations to start the year. Although mega stars Johnny Depp and Keanu Reeves are still working on new film projects, Tom Cruise, Tom Hanks, and Chris Pratt are breaking records in the box office with their new movies.
When you finally make your choice of what to watch, the most important question is next. What do I consume while enjoying stories unfold on screen? We will spotlight 5 new movies this summer and offer you our selections of the perfect cannabis products to pair them with.
Jurassic World: Dominion
Welcome to Jurassic World: Dominion. Released in early June, Chris Pratt (Parks and Recreation and Guardians of the Galaxy) stars in the latest film from the Jurassic Park lexicon created by author Michael Chrichton. In the sixth movie, the scientists in the lab at Jurassic Park are once again creating life and playing God in order to bring dinosaurs back to life. All the while ignoring the iconic words of Dr. Ian Malcom (Jeff Goldbloom) from the first Jurassic Park movie, "Yeah, yeah, but your scientists were so preoccupied with whether or not they could that they didn't stop to think if they should."
What is more tyrannous than a Tyrannosaurus Rex? A genetically modified T-Rex of course. The man made lab experiment called Indominus Rex escapes containment and treats the world away from the park as an all you can eat buffet, leaving a trail of death in its wake.
The perfect strain to buckle up on this wild ride while they hunt down this genetically modified terror is none other than GMO. The letters GMO are commonly identified as Genetically Modified Organism. In the cannabis world however, GMO stands for Garlic, Mushroom, Onion because the aroma of this strain gives off a unique blend of these elements with a gassy finish.
This heavy hybrid strain is a cross of the powerful GSC and Chemdawg strains (also known as GMO Cookies or Garlic Cookies) that tends to lean heavily on the indica side. Check out our GMO options available in concentrates, flower and vapes.
Top Gun: Maverick
Top Gun: Maverick takes place 36 years later from the original movie as Tom Cruise revisits the role of now Captain Pete "Maverick" Mitchell. Maverick returns to the United States Navy Strike Fighter Tactics Instructor program to train the next generation of Top Guns. This time, however, he's training the son of his deceased best friend, Nick "Goose" Bradshaw. Fans of the original film will be happy to know that Val Kilmer also reprises his role as Lt. Tom “Iceman” Kazansky.
We all know that Cruise is no stranger to summer blockbusters, but he's ascending to new heights with this film. Top Gun: Maverick is flying high above its competition at speeds never seen before as it broke $1 billion in box office sales in less than a month. This may end up being one of the highest-grossing films of all time.

Tom Hanks and Austin Butler star in the new movie Elvis, a true story that chronicles the King of Rock and Roll’s humble beginnings in Tupelo, Mississippi, through his launch from Tennessee to the stardom of the big screen and fame in Las Vegas. Elvis Presley’s journey from childhood to entertainment royalty spans a massive two hour and thirty eight minutes.
In order to maintain the right frame of mind for the duration of this movie, we recommend arming yourself with cannabis suited for a king. Break out some Kings Garden flower or for the brave and heavy hitters, some infused pre-rolls or vapes from Kingroll and Kingpen powered by Loudpack.
Available for streaming only, the Netflix exclusive movie Hustle starring Adam Sandler continues to show the wide acting range he has been able to develop since leaving Saturday Night Live. Sandler plays Stanley Sugerman, an NBA scout who discovers a raw but talented baller in Spain named Bo Cruz, played by Juancho Hernangomez.
This film is reminiscent of Blue Chips featuring Shaq and Nick Nolte, but with more of an international flavor. To create a movie theater experience at home while streaming, make sure to have plenty of snacks and enough milligrams of edibles handy. Our friends at Stiiizy offer a wide selection of nano enhanced gummies that are tasty and fast-acting. Eat with caution, though, and remember that less is more when it comes to cannabis gummies.
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness
Benedict Cumberbatch suits up once again in the latest film from the Marvel Universe Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Wanda Maximoff (Elizabeth Olsen) and Wong (Benedict Wong) also return to help Doctor Strange tackle a very perplexing adventure. Strange is helping a teenage girl from his dreams who has the power to travel across multiverses.
Together they face various forces of evil, including multiple versions of Doctor Strange himself.
