Rolling up the Hall of Flowers 2021

Hall of Flowers is one of the biggest cannabis events in California. Check out this review of the event and cannabis brands we discovered. Written by Tom Searcy.

Hall of Flowers 2021 took place in person this year at the Sonoma County fairgrounds in Santa Rosa, CA. It brought together players from every corner of the cannabis industry for networking, education, and sharing the love we all have for cannabis. The fairgrounds were arranged into several exhibit halls to house all of the brands that participated this year.

Brand Booths

Each hall was a walk-through of cannabis innovation and love. This stroll through California’s best flowers, edibles, concentrates, tinctures, and technologies gives retail brands an idea of what will become available in the market for the coming year. Every booth was filled with the individuality and personality of each brand, which helps give each brand its own spotlight.

Hall of Flowers (HOF) saw about 3,500 plus attendees this year with a mix of cannabis retailers and brands all hunting for new products, building new relationships, and seeing familiar faces. Because last year’s HOF did not happen in person, many in the industry were eager to showcase what they had created during the stay-at-home portion of the pandemic.

Exhibit Hall: Nug's Dispensary

Besides the brand booths, there was also an exhibit hall utilized as an enormous dispensary run by NUG , a state-licensed vertically integrated cannabis company. It is of importance to note that NUG’s employees kept a steady flow of buyers at the dispensary and things were very well organized. Several outdoor consumption areas made Hall of Flowers a truly cannabis immersive experience where buyers could sample the items they received at the dispensary.

Many brands entered the fairgrounds for the first time this year, eager to debut their products to the already booming cannabis market, which saw about $817 million in adult-use marijuana tax revenue during the 2020-2021 fiscal year.

Of particular interest this year is the new BluePrint , a legal cannabis brand. BluePrint cultivates high quality proprietary in-house strains and does so with gusto. Their P90 strain exhibited at HOF was a step back into a gassier time of cannabis. All of the late 90’s nostalgia came rushing back after smoking this one. Never in the history of legal cannabis has a brand entered the arena as such a champion. BluePrint also packages its eighths at a weight of 3.7g, giving the consumer a little extra flower compared to their competitors.

Traditional Cannabis

Another top flower cultivator at Hall of Flowers was the Traditional Cannabis brand from Los Angeles. They have been growing cannabis for about 15 years and have a solid lineup of exotics and OG’s that had our mouths watering. Traditional has their own store in the Los Angeles area as well as being a premium cannabis brand.

We are also excited to share Cosmic View with our followers, a mother-daughter owned and operated brand that specializes in women’s products, including balms, tinctures, and edibles. Putting an emphasis on mother earth, this team with a PhD cancer researcher mother and cancer survivor daughter has created a line of thoughtful and artisanally crafted cannabis products with women as the main focus.

Cannabis Celebrities, Famous Breeders, and Pot Journalists Galore

Besides the brands there were countless cannabis celebrities, famous breeders, and pot journalists galore. We stopped in on LA Weekly's Jimi Devine's HOF Super Sesh to check out some of his top picks from the industry, and of course, we found BluePrint to be among his top picks. The rest of his Hall of Flowers Essential Heat List can be seen on LA Weekly.
